Wedding Proposal

We had the most unique and unusual church service yesterday morning. Our Pastor is doing a series of sermons on Marriage and Relationships. It is no way that I can tell you how good the service was and do it any justice, but I did want to share something with you. He has been doing this for the past month and yesterday he talked about "Tenderness" and tied it in so well with the scriptures. As part of his message he asked a young couple to come up and help him illustrate something. They of course knew beforehand that he was going to ask them. He took turns asking them questions about how the other one treated them and what made them care so much about each other. They are both very active in church and with our worship team. He played the piano yesterday morning and she played the guitar. They both shared about how their love for the Lord and their dedication to him meant so much to their relationship. They shared how God came first and then each other. They both treated each other with tenderness and you could tell they that really loved each other. She shared how he lifted her spirits one day when she was having a bad day. It was all so sweet. But the icing on the cake was when he bent down on one knee and proposed to her in front of the whole congregation. Of course all of ladies was teary eyed and his friends was cheering him on. It was so spiritual and definitely not out of order. You could feel the Lord's presence and Pastor was able to pick right up and continue his sermon. He said that we need to keep that tenderness no matter how long we have been married and to treat our spouses with love and tenderness. You just should have been there. It made me want to go home and do something nice for my hubby...of course he was at work!
